Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I am NO.4 .Today I’m going to talk about the topic” What should I do?” I will divide my presentation into seven parts, they are the analysis of teaching material, teaching aims, teaching procedures and so on.
Part 1 Teaching material
First of all, I’d like to talk about my understanding about this lesson.This lesson is taken from Unit 3 of 9A Oxford English. We have learned some basic English knowledge before, besides, students have accumulated enough life experience, so it will be rather easy for them to learn this lessen well.
Part 2 Students
Students in Junior high school have learned English for just few years, they have mastered some basic simple English knowledge, but it is still very difficult for them to put what they have learned into daily use. So some communicative activities will be designed to help to practice their oral English.
Part 3 Teaching aims
Based on the analysis above and the New Curriculum Standard. I set three teaching aims as follows.
(1)Students can know the spelling of some words and usage of some phrases.
(2)Students will learn something about Millie’s and Simon’s problems.
(3)Students are able to grasp the main idea of Reading and use the information to talk to others about one’s problems and how to deal with them.
(1)Students can improve the ability of getting information by reading.
(2)Students will improve the ability of retelling the story.
(1)They can understand how to write about problems and to express feelings.
(2)Students can ask for advice to solve the problems.

Part 5 Teaching methods
In this topic, I will use five-step Teaching Method and Task-based language Teaching.I design some tasks to help the students learn.I think if I want to improve their oral English, I should give them enough chances to practice and I will use pair work, group work to let the students take an active part in all kinds of activities. That is “Learning by doing, learning by using”. Let the students be the masters of the class teaching, thus, student-centered teaching method is well shown.
Part 6 Teaching procedures
Now, let’s focus on the most important part of my presentation, teaching procedures.
At the start of the lesson, I will have a free talk with students. They can talk about some problems they have in their daily life and try to give solutions. The purpose why I do this activity is to arouse the students’ interest of study.
In this step, to help students develop their predicting ability, I will ask them to predict the main content of this lesson.
Here are two tasks in all. First I will ask students to read two letters and answer the following questions:
①What is Millie’s favorite hobby?(Painting)
②What is Millie’s problem?(She doesn’t have enough time for hobbies and home work.)
③When does Simon play football?(After school until late)
Then students will be asked if there are some words that they do not know, try to explain some new words briefly if there is any.
By doing these activities, students can develop the skills of skimming and how to gain the main idea of the articles.
1.Listen to the tape and answer some question about “True”or“False”.
2.Ask students to read the articles again and explain some important phrases.(hand in...)
The purpose of this part is to develop the skills of scanning and how to gain the details from the article.
After they have totally understood the passage. Then it’s time to consolidate what we have learned. Here are three tasks in all.
1.Ask students to make sentences with phrases that we have learned.
2.Try to retell the outline of the articles.
3.Encourage students to say something about themselves.
The purpose is to develop the skills of retelling with the key words
Step Ⅴ.Summary and homework
At the end of the class, students will be asked to summarize what we have learned in class, and I give them some complements. Then today’s homework is:
1. Revise the words and phrases
2. Write a letter about himself after class.
Part 7 Blackboard design
Lastly，I’d like to talk about my blackboard design. As you can see, It is very clear and logical, students can easily master what we have learned in the class.
Dear judges, during my teaching, I’ll try my best to get my class alive and encourage the students to talk with each other in English. I think the general aim of English teaching is to improve the ability of using English. And I’ll use this to guide my teaching. Thanks for your listening!
